Sherlock Holmes

Paget_duo (34K) Welcome to my pages devoted to The Sixty Stories -- the original Sherlock Holmes adventures penned by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

If you're looking for more information about my play "HOLMES & WATSON" let me redirect you here-- you'll find photos from the show, a lengthy sample of the script, and more.

But the part of my site that you're in right now is mostly made up of my little essays on the original stories. I make no pretense that these are profound or even enlightening -- but I offer them in the hope they may somehow be of use to Sherlockian societies, perhaps as newletter-fillers or even discusson-starters. (Now, if you are in school and plan to copy any of these for an assigned paper -- shame on you. I hope you steal one of these and then get caught, you little creep.)

Eventually I'll have all of them linked here, but you can see the ones I have online at the moment either via the STORY INDEX or from this alphabetical list:

For the text of the stories -- and more intelligent commentary than mine -- I recommend Chris Redmond's outstanding Sherlockian.net...

I know of no more comprehensive exploration of the day-to-day happenings in the Sherlockian world than Peter Blau's remarkable Scuttlebutt from the Spermaceti Press...

If it's a showcase of illustrations you seek, you can ask for no better than the exquisite Pinacotheca Holmesiana...
